What We Do

Cybersecurity Education & Training Through Homelabs.

Cybersecurity education can be expensive, fragmented, and often lacks a clear path to kickstart your security career path. ProjectSecurity is built to support your career journey across three pillars, with homelabs at the heart of everything we do.

  • Pillar #1: Get a Practical Start in Cybersecurity
  • Instead of abstract theory, we replicate enterprise or business networks, systems, and security setups to mirror actual IT environments starting day one.

  • Pillar #2: We Work With Real-World Tools & Technologies
  • Open-source and community edition tools allow you to work with the same technologies professionals use daily. We use the same tools actual environments would.

  • Pillar #3: Build a Cybersecurity Portfolio
  • By doing on-premise and cloud-hosted homelabs, you build a portfolio, something to showcase and use to bridge your experience gap.

The ProjectSecurity Portfolio Suite

We build real-world homelabs, while learning how to deploy and configure, launch attacks, and bolster defenses. We do this by building an entirely simulated corporate and production network based on four core sections or areas in security.

  • Enterprise 101 (E101)
  • Focuses on the foundations of building an enterprise environment. We call this simulated environment ProjectX.

  • Networks & Attacks 101 (NA101)
  • Builds off the basics, extends corporate network, adds network monitoring, prevention, and defense.

  • Cloud & Attacks 101 (CA101)
  • Build and deploy a production network in preparation of building an application.

  • Web & Attacks 101 (WA101)
  • Build a web application to service our fake customers.

We deploy, attack, and defend on each of these.

👉 Right now E101 and NA101 are available. CA101 and WA101 are being actively developed.

Bridge The Experience Gap

Build a Cybersecurity Portfolio

A cybersecurity portfolio is a curated showcase of projects, skills, and hands-on experience, highlighting your technical abilities, problem-solving, and security expertise. We think through homelabs, you are doing all of this in one. Here's what a portfolio does in security.

  • Showcases Your Skills
  • A portfolio demonstrates your hands-on ability, not just theoretical knowledge. It's evidence for what you have done.

  • Demonstrates Initiative
  • Valued candidates accomplish and go beyond coursework and certifications. A portfolio is a reflection of self-motivation and a proactive approach to learning and skill-building.

  • Improves Job Prospects
  • A tangible portfolio to showcase to recruiters, interviewers, and colleagues.

"One of the best FREE courses in building your own cybersecurity home lab! If you want hands-on skills in ethical hacking, forensics, and incident response, you need a home lab, a safe space to experiment, break things, and learn by doing. You will gain skills that you will not find in most courses! This course teaches you how to build an AD lab, setting up and using tools like Wazuh, Security Onion, MailHog, etc., and also simulating and detecting the attack."

"I am starting a new job at Arctic Wolf as a Triage Security Analyst. I recently completed this project from Grant Collins. It's really well organized and explained, and available for free. Cyber projects and content created by Grant Collins were also really helpful in getting hands on with a wide range of tools. Thank you!"
